What is the Mediterranean Maudsley Forum (MMF)?
Since 2007, the Institute of Psychiatry of King's College London has regularly exported its worldwide reputation for psychiatric research
and clinical care to the centre of the Mediterranean.
The Mediterranean Maudsley Forum (MMF) has become a unique meeting point for sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration,
and exploring new perspectives in psychiatry.
Thus, in this tradition of new learning and experiences, the 12th MMF continues to provide an update on social, psychological and biological aspects of psychiatric disorders, reviewing both advances in understanding the disorders and exciting new treatment methods.
The 12th Mediterranean Maudsley Forum will take place in Palermo, Italy, from 24th to 27th May 2027.
What will the 12th MMF cover?
The Forum will feature internationally recognised psychiatrists and psychologists, who will present the most recent advances in:
• Psychotic Disorders from aetiology, through the challenge of Negative symptoms and metabolic syndrome to treatment •
• New frontiers in the treatment of Dual Diagnosis •
• The good and bad of AI in Psychiatry •
• The role of genetics in improving the understanding and care of Anxiety and Addictions •
• Autism Spectrum disorder in 2026 •
• Climate change and Mental Health •
• Cannabis use and Violence •
• Gender Dysphoria •
• Pet therapy and Mental Health •
Who is the 12th MMF for?
The Forum is designed for: Psychiatrists, Clinical psychologists. Mental health professionals, Neuroscientists, and Students
eager to learn about the latest developments in psychiatry
Around 100 participants are expected to join from across Europe and beyond,
creating a vibrant atmosphere with plenty of opportunities for interaction, networking, and cultural exchange.
The course will be conducted entirely in English
